am the vine …you are the branches. Abide in Me. Apart from Me,
you can do nothing.” John
15:1-7
With God, it’s all
about interdependency and relationship. It’s all about being
alive in Christ and belonging to the vine, not just yourself.
We need Christ: A vine carries nutrients, life
itself to the branches. Without the vine, the branches perish.
We need an unbroken connection, a constant active relationship
between each of us and God.
We need to bear fruit: The purpose of the branches
on the grapevine is to bear fruit, as we are to bear fruit in
our lives. Fruit grows out of our reactions and responses to
life.
We need each other: God created us to bear fruit
and gave us a ministry to those within our church family and a
mission to the world.

a representation of the branches known as “Orchard Church”
