M & M's at Orchard
Mission Opportunities,
local and world-wide ...
... are an important part of
Ministry at Orchard
There are many
opportunities, throughout the year, to volunteer as part of a ministry
team, as your schedule allows.
There are
once-a-year projects such as
Rebuilding Together, Salvation Army
Bell ringing, the Eastside Ministries picnic, senior high youth
mission trip, and our annual Spring Clean-up of the church
property,
... and there are
semi-annual opportunities such as Red Cross Blood Donation and
Cass Work Days.
... and there are
recurring opportunities such as serving lunch at the Baldwin
Soup Kitchen, contributing your loose change offering each Sunday, and
collecting items such as used eyeglasses, printer cartridges and
labels.
For more
information on how to volunteer for these and our other
ministries, please contact
, Discipleship Coordinator, or call the church office at
(248)626-3620.
Rebuilding Together
- Project Sign-up begins in Mid March
With members of Orchard's family taking on more leadership roles
in various levels of Rebuilding Together, it may seem as though
this project is on-going but the focus now turns from the Super
Bowl/Cass project to the annual one where home repairs are
provided to local low-income elderly and disabled homeowners and
families with children who often have no place to turn for help.
On the last Saturday in April,
we join with volunteers from other local churches and
organizations to work on 15 local homes.
This project will require 600
laborers, including all skill levels.
Applications will be available in March in the narthex to sign
up to help. Clear your calendar for that Saturday and plan to be part of
this great hands-on opportunity to help others right in our area!
Needed: Workers to Serve Lunch to Needy
People on 2nd Friday's
When Baldwin Center began 25 years ago, our church family
began serving lunch there on the 2nd Friday of every month
(that's about 300 times!). We carpool from the church,
leaving at 9:30am. Sign up on the Opportunities Board in
the narthex if you can help!
