One year for Christmas, Judy and Doug Rick gave me “Interactive Topo Maps” on CD-Rom of 15 major National Parks. It became my goal to hike in each of those parks. Through the years, I have been able to visit most of them.

Last fall, I thought that in 2008 I might spend part of my summer hiking in the Canadian section of Glacier/Waterton Lake National Park. I have always wanted to have tea at the Prince of Wales Hotel. Unfortunately, rising gas prices and the falling dollar have made me set aside this trip for another time.

A Church of Excellence!

In early 2001, Orchard Church was selected as a "Church of Excellence" following a 2 year study funded by a Lilly Foundation Grant. Scholars, pastors, religious journalists, religion professors and denomination leaders were asked to recommend the "best of the best" churches. This study is chronicled in Paul Wilkes book "Excellent Protestant Churches: A Guide to Best Places and Practices"
