More Ways to Serve at Orchard
While Christ is the heart and soul of the church, we are the hands and feet that move it forward and take care of it. Each of us is essential to upholding the ministry that happens here. Here are some of the ways you can help be the church as you serve the church.
Our Trustees are charged with caring for the building – from doorstops to lightbulbs, from yard work to plumbing. If you’re handy and have a hand to lend, please contact Barbara DeGrazia, or Betsy Stanis if outdoor work is your passion.
Child Care
There is no more special and significant job than taking care of our youngest members - the future of our faith. We always need volunteers to provide save and loving care on Sunday mornings and during the week while programs and ministries are running. To volunteer a little time and love, please contact Jenny Sawmiller. Background checks are performed for all leaders and volunteers.
Committee Service
Each September our Lay Leadership Committee works to match the right people and their gifts and graces with the needs of our various committees and teams. Finance, Trustees, Missions, Church Council, Staff Parish, Lay Leadership... these are just some of the opportunities available to help serve and guide the work and future of the church. Contact Pastor Amy if you'd like to be considered to serve on one of these teams.
Communications Team
This ministry brings the activities and celebrations of Orchard to the community. Creativity with graphics and text make this group an integral part of getting the great news about Orchard out into the community so that others might come and see what we’re all about. Contact, Linda Hall
Events Team
Do you love church picnics? Bingo? Square dancing? Chili cook-offs? Potlucks? How about community-wide events like Touch-a-Truck, Trunk 'R Treat, or an Easter Eve Fun Time? This group provides opportunities for all ages and stages to get together and have fun! It's the perfect way to invite others to experience Orchard! Contact, Kristen Tesauro
Fine Arts Ministry Team
This group brings special musical and drama events to Orchard, outside of the Sunday worship experience. Contacts, Sandy and Dave Catherman
Memorial Garden Committee
Orchard’s Memorial Garden is a beautiful, peaceful garden located at the south end of the building. The site is intended to provide a tranquil setting for the celebration of life through funerals, baptisms, weddings, devotionals, private and collective moments of reflection, and a place to receive ashes of loved ones.

The Memorial Garden is administered by the Memorial Garden Committee, which consists of a minimum of 3 members: If you would like to help maintain the beauty and integrity of this sacred place, please contact Betsy Stanis.
NEXT Team
Whether you (or someone you know) are facing job loss, job re-engineering, job down-sizing or considering a career change or decision, Orchard has dedicated experienced mentors to help you in your journey. This helps answer "What's NEXT in my life?" Contact, Thom Parker
Office Volunteers
Office assistance is regularly needed and such a wonderful way to help the staff! If you're able to help in any of these ways, please contact, Deanna Kohl:

-
Answer Phones - This important job means you sit at the front desk and greet people as they come in, offer directions for those who need it, and answer the phone when it rings.
-
Newsletter Mailing - Once a month we need volunteers to help assemble and prepare the Harvester newsletter for mailing. This is typically a 1-2 hour task.
-
Special Projects and Mailings - If you are generally available to help out on an as-needed basis, Deanna would love to put you on that list!
Teaching/Leading/Assisting
Whether you volunteer to teach Sunday School to toddlers or lead a men's Bible study, teaching and leading are one of the most significant ways you can witness to your faith and to help others to find theirs. Prayerfully consider where God might be calling you. Contact, Pastor Nick Bonsky.
